THE ARRIVAL
Door no. 12, at the end of a laterite path. Your caretaker will be there to open it and take the bags. The front door opens straight through the hall to the pool, so the first thing you see is water.
THE LIVING ROOM
Double height, with an alabaster drum chandelier hanging through both floors. Full-height glass slides open onto the sundeck and the room becomes part of the garden. Mustard velvet sofas, cane and teak, patterned cement tile underfoot, original art on white-painted brick. 65-inch smart TV. The dining table seats six with the garden doors behind it.
Everyone ends up in here. That is what the room is for.
THE KITCHEN
Fridge, gas hob with chimney, microwave, kettle, pans, cutlery, everything you need to actually cook. Breakfast is made for you at no charge and you pay only for the groceries. A chef can be arranged for other meals.
