- Portuguese Bones, Greek Light: The house is genuinely old and the restoration kept it that way: thick walls, deep verandahs, the proportions of a home built to last. Inside, whitewash and soft Greek light run through contemporary rooms that sit within the original structure rather than replacing it. There are new-build villas in Goa dressed as Portuguese houses. This is the real thing.
- The Pool Is the Middle of the House: A private ten-metre pool with dining alongside it, arched walls at one end, and rooms opening onto it from more than one side. Breakfast starts there and evening drinks end there.
